Huge Disaster in Nepal: Over 600 Dead, Thousands Missing After Glacial Collapse

A sudden and devastating natural disaster has struck widespread areas of Nepal. Following a massive glacial collapse near the Tibet border, catastrophic flash floods and landslides triggered by the raging Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers swept away entire villages, roads, and key infrastructure in minutes.

Current Situation and Ground Reality:

• Casualties and Missing: International and local reports confirm that over 675 bodies have been recovered so far, with around 2,400 people still reported missing.
• Trapped in Tunnels: In the Rasuwa region, numerous workers and locals remain trapped under thick mud inside a hydropower project tunnel, where joint rescue operations by the Nepal Army, alongside specialized teams from India and China, are underway.
• Stranded Tourists: While nearly 250 local and foreign tourists have been safely rescued, overall communication networks remain severed, leaving the true extent of damage in remote mountain areas still unknown.
