Elections are meant to be a celebration of democracy, a symbol of hope, and the beginning of a new chapter for a nation. However, when that hope is overshadowed by reports of violence, arson, vandalism, injuries, and loss of lives, fear and uncertainty begin to grow among ordinary citizens.

In the days following the recent election in Bangladesh, concerns have risen as several incidents of house burnings, property damage, and clashes have been reported. Even before newly elected leaders have taken their oath, many people are already feeling anxious about safety and stability.

Political power should never come at the cost of human lives, destroyed homes, or shattered dreams. Regardless of which party forms the government, the primary responsibility of all political actors is to ensure peace, protect citizens, and uphold the rule of law.

Bangladesh belongs to all its people. Differences in political opinions are natural in any democracy, but violence and intimidation can never be the solution. What the people truly seek is security, justice, and a political culture built on respect and accountability.

Let us stand together against violence. Let us choose unity over division, peace over fear, and humanity over hatred. The future of a nation must be built on stability, safety, and mutual respect — not on conflict.
